Step by Step
1. The Consultation Enjoy a luxurious experience focused entirely on YOU! We'll discuss your goals and the reasons behind your session, giving you a chance to share your vision. This is also your opportunity to learn more about the process and get acquainted with me. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you have about the session!
2. Scheduling Now that you’re excited, let’s lock in your session date! After you book, we’ll begin discussing your style and desired outcomes. You can either bring your own wardrobe or choose from our extensive selection of rental options. We’ll also invite you to browse our online wardrobe, allowing you to pre-select items you might want to wear, including headpieces and props and heels.
3. Pamper Session It’s time to glam up! On the day of your session we will start with hair and makeup with my professional Hair & Makeup Artist to enhance your natutal beauty. This is also where we will select the top 3-4 outfits for the session and pair them up with the different sets we have here in the studio. Sit back, relax, and soak in the ambiance as we prepare you for your shoot!
4. The Photoshoot Now the excitement truly starts! If this is your first time, don’t worry—most of my clients are in the same boat! I’ll guide you throughout the process and provide pose coaching every step of the way. We’ll explore different outfits and sets based on your chosen package, with sessions lasting anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
5. Reveal/Ordering Oh, the excitement builds! We’ll arrange a date for your reveal and ordering session, where you’ll have the chance to see your stunning images. You can select your favorites (or even opt for them all!) and choose the products you’d like to showcase your beautiful artwork!
When you choose Boudoir Christchurch for your photography, your privacy is our priority. Your images will be hosted on a professional, password-protected website for your viewing. If you prefer not to share your images on the Boudoir Christchurch website or for any marketing purposes, rest assured that your photos will remain completely private. Our photography is infused with intention, heart, and soul, designed to reveal your true self.

Amanda - Founder/Photographer
My name is Amanda and I am a fulltime portrait photographer.
I have had the joy of photographing 100s of women over the last 2 years. I specialise in assisting woman feel beautiful through photography. There’s nothing that makes me happier than using photography to spark self love and confidence in my client.
I am a normal woman like you, I just turned 50 this year and find I am feeling more confident in my own skin as I get older. I enjoy travel and own a campervan, I have two adult children who are off living their own lives.
I spent 20 years as counsellor/health professional and do all I can to help you not to be so hard on yourself by showing you how beautiful you really are. I find my clients come in as strangers but leave as friends with many returning again for another shoot.
Melodie - Mua/Photographer
I’m Melodie McColl, born in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1983.
I immersed myself in studying art, photography, graphics, and woodwork throughout my education. This diverse foundation led me to earn both a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and later on in Makeup and Production from the Design and Arts College of New Zealand.
It was during my studies in Fashion and Makeup that I discovered my love for photography. I’ve always been driven to bring a vision to life from head to toe, paying close attention to every detail to create a cohesive and stunning look.
With over 20 years of experience in the beauty and fashion industries, I draw not only from my training as a makeup artist but also from my background as a fashion designer. My goal is to create intimate and captivating photographs that will be treasured for a lifetime. I blend artistry with sensuality, resulting in images that tell a story and evoke genuine emotion.
My work is a fusion of styles, designs, and colors, crafting a world filled with magic, romance, and a unique creative flair that marries the old with the new.

A Photoshoot with us is an experience you will treasure and look back on as one of the most fun things you have done for yourself for a long time! Our glamour boudoir shoots start in our tailor designed home studio here in Christchurch but we can also do a photoshoot at your home or at a beautiful out door location.

WHO DOES MY HAIR AND MAKEUP?
Meet Melodie, our makeup and hair artist who works behind the camera as part of the Boudoir Christchurch experience. Beyond capturing stunning imagery, Melodie and her team handle all makeup and hairstyling, ensuring a polished, professional finish that highlights your best self. You’ll enjoy a relaxed environment as we help calm your nerves, and you settle in to witness your transformation. WHERE IS THE LOCATION?
I have a purpose-built studio in Christchurch. It features a chaise lounge and multiple rooms to shoot in.
I do travel monthly as well and offer popular weekend boudoir marathons in Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim and Dunedin. If you want to join one of these, contact me and I will add you to the waitlist to be told as soon as we have a date.
WHAT KIND OF SESSIONS DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH?
I love to photograph women and when I get a chance men also. My aim for my photography is to capture beautiful portraits of you that you will love and treasure forever. I actually don't mind what you wear so I am just as happy photographing you in your favorite clothes or coming up with a special outfit. I am mainly a natural light photographer as I want to concentrate on you and keeping mobile rather than fiddling with lights, but I do use some lighting. I love both inside and outside images where I can combine my love of landscape photography with beautiful portraits. I also offer couples, maternity, personal branding, and bridal boudoir. While this site talks about "Men and Women" I am very open to creating beautiful affirming and empowering photoshoots for gender diverse people and have photographed many people from the LGBT community.
DO I CHOOSE WHICH PRODUCTS I WANT BEFORE THE SHOOT?
It's completely up to you. If you decide to pay a product off before the shoot, I will give you a free gift, but you are also very welcome to wait for the after-shoot reveal and choose what you love then based on the images you really love. We Have payment plans available.
WILL YOU EDIT STRETCH MARKS AND SKIN IMPERFECTIONS?
I do make edits to your photos such as skin smoothing and removed any blemishes such as pimples or bruises you want to be removed.
If you want something larger edited such as large tattoos or scars, please discuss prior as there may be a small additional cost per image. I do try to show you; you are beautiful by enhancing your natural beauty so I don’t typically use any kind of shape-changing technology however if you want something extra, I can discuss with you. We are also able to do fantasy edits that add fantasy elements through photoshop etc for special effects. These types of edits cost an extra $40 per hour as we do love to do something creative.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT MY PHOTOS ONLINE?
It's completely up to you whether you want me to share any of your photos online. I will ask you after you have received your photos and I completely understand if you want them to be completely private. You will notice if you follow my Facebook page that women who have shared their photos and sometimes their stories of growing to love themselves have gotten a lot of support from our online community.
CAN I GET DIGITAL FILES OF THE IMAGES?
Yes, I offer digital file package and a combination of both.

When I arrived at the photoshoot location, they made me feel welcomed as soon as I walked through the door. From nibbles and drinks to talking about what ideas and what I want to wear. They had an incredible selection of outfits to choose from - they really do have something for everyone!
Melodie made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process - from hair and makeup, and then lots of guidance throughout the shoot to bring out the best sides of me. In just 2 hours, she had hundreds of photos of me and they all turned out freaking incredible! I felt like the sexiest, hottest and most confident woman on the planet - I have been buzzing for days! My photos look absolutely stunning and I will truly treasure them for a life time.
